Winter packages are available from December through March!

We can assist with all of your winter reservation needs - lodging, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, snowcoach tours, and downhill skiing!  Please note that beginning in winter 2003, visitors will be required to obtain park entry reservations in order to snowmobile inside the park without a guide.

Enjoy the deep powder snow of Yellowstone Country with hundreds of miles of trails to choose from!  Snowmobile or Ski into the park, explore the countless mountain trails near West Yellowstone, or spend a day at one of the area alpine ski resorts!  Or, take a winter tour of Yellowstone in the comfort of a snowcoach.  If that's not enough, try a day of snowshoeing in the quiet and pristine alpine forest.  And of course, if it's just too cold to be outside, there's nothing quite like enjoying a hot cup of chocolate by the fireplace!

Yellowstone country experiences frequent snowstorms that can create excellent snowmobile conditions!  The area is often blanketed with a thick  layer of fresh powder that can even engulf trees as in the photo on the below.  If you're going sledding (as locals refer to snowmobiling), be prepared to enjoy some spectacular winter scenery!

If you're interested in a winter vacation at Yellowstone, you definitely need to consider  staying at West Yellowstone, the "Snowmobile Capital of the World"!  Without doubt, West Yellowstone is a mecca for winter sport enthusiasts.  The high mountain town receives an average of more than 140 inches of snow annually!  West Yellowstone is also a paradise for nordic skiing, drawing fans of the sport from around the globe.

Before you venture out into the snow, check out the Daily Yellowstone Winter Report!  Yellowstone's climate can be harsh during the winter months, but you can still be comfortable and confident if you dress appropriately.
